Almost halfway – IVSA secretary
The last time I wrote my blog post, I was just starting this year of being a Secretary for IVSA Global. In the past months I experienced that it’s not always as easy as it seems. The first thing I’m (still) doing is keeping the Instagram updated, which is a very cool thing to do!
There have been lots of positive responses, and the list of followers keeps growing. Secondly, I recently made designs for the IVSA Officials‘ shirts. You would think that, if you apply to be a Secretary for the Public Relations Coordinator, you should be into designing and working with Photoshop etcetera. But… well… that’s not really the case.
Those things were actually on my ‘wanna be able to do’ list, so that’s what I’m working on right now! It all worked out pretty well if I may say so myself, and I believe that it’s gonna be cool! Furthermore, we put up a list of all partners with some basic info on the IVSA website, so that everyone who visits our website can see the partners were are working with and go to their websites directly. The last, and hardest, thing would be the IVSA Journals. I guess I found out that it’s a challenge to work on one thing together with other people in different time zones and different schedules and ideas. It’s still a work in progress, but I know we’ll get there. This makes me think about what IVSA actually is again, a network of people all over the world, trying to achieve something together.
It won’t always be easy, since everyone is busy with their own studies and social life, and next to that, trying to make IVSA better, and keeping connected. But the feeling that in every time zone there are students like you, makes you feel better. In a few weeks, I’ll be travelling to Taiwan for the IVSA Winter Symposium and in two months, I’ll be going to do an internship at OIE in Paris for 6 months. That will be another amazing challenge for me personally but also through a veterinary perspective. But thanks to my IVSA friends, I already feel welcome and I am so excited to meet you all again!!
Liefs, Kiki!
